Creative campaigns

My experience has allowed me to drive AECOM's growth strategy by building our brand in the marketplace through marketing and communications thought leadership campaigns. I craft content and distil complex messages to develop compelling content that connects and engages audiences.

Brisbane 2032 Creative Communications Strategy

Our marketing and brand team are developing a campaign to position AECOM for the Brisbane Olympics 2032. Our creative tactics included web design, video content creation, and a tailored creative strategy. We revamped AECOM's website and created engaging video content to showcase our expertise. Our creative strategy targeted decision-makers with tailored messaging and utilised social media to engage with key stakeholders.

Driving the next wave of jobs for Melbourne

Driving the next wave of jobs for Melbourne

Challenge: Melbourne is embarking on a period of unprecedented growth, with the population projected to rise to eight million by 2050. As a result, the city is on the cusp of significant changes to its urban form that will either set the city up for continued success as one of the world's most-liveable cities, or result in a weakening of its competitive advantage and in the quality of life that residents enjoy We believe that Employment and Innovation Clusters (EICs) will be key to fostering a successful, growing economy founded on innovation.

Research methodology: To better understand the current thinking in Melbourne and the readiness of the city to integrate EICs, AECOM hosted a series of four workshops in mid-2017, drawing on the deep knowledge and extensive experience of some of Australia's leading thinkers in the fields of urban development, research and innovation, and public and transport policy. We would like to thank everyone who participated in the workshops (a list of participating organisations appears at the end of this report) for their invaluable contributions.

Solution: This report distils these contributions and our own research and offers some recommendations on the key facets of an EIC, and the required steps that need to be taken to ensure their success. It forms part of our Brilliant City Insights, which includes previous work, such as Innovating: Transforming Australian Cities with Innovation. This report concludes by applying these recommendations to Fishermans Bend, arguably the largest urban renewal opportunity in the country, which has the potential to be Australia's first globally competitive innovation powerhouse, and discusses three other Victorian Employment and Innovation Clusters.

Transport on Demand: Accelerating Australian Cities

Transport on Demand: Accelerating Australian Cities

Challenge: The way we approach transport in Australian cities is changing, but are we moving fast enough to mitigate the costs of congestion caused by the continued rapid growth in our cities?

The populations of our major cities will grow significantly over the next 15 years. By 2031, without new infrastructure and services, congestion is forecast to cost our economy more than $50 billion a year. Australia's metropolitan road networks and public transport networks are struggling to cope with this growing population, and while major infrastructure projects and new planned mass transit services will support continued urban growth, these are costly solutions to an efficiency problem.

Research methodology: AECOM has used usage data from GoGet – the largest carshare company in Australia – to estimate how big the carshare market could be in Sydney. Our conservative estimates are that there could be 3,500 car share vehicles in Sydney by 2036 and as many as 9,000 if the public are encouraged to embrace carsharing and city leaders provide the necessary support.

Solution: This report provided advice to Governments and Developers to see a noticeable change, shared mobility must become part of our transport network. Governments and developers can accelerate this by partnering to promote the benefits of carsharing- and ridesharing, providing space for shared vehicles and connected trip planning.

Green Infrastructure: A vital step to brilliant Australian cities

Green Infrastructure: A vital step to brilliant Australian cities

Challenge: The number of residents in Australian cities is forecast to boom in the next few decades, with Sydney's population expected to nearly double by 2056. Population growth will increase demand for housing and jobs, and will place enormous pressure on health systems and transport. Energy consumption will increase as temperatures rise due to climate change.[2] As our cities become increasingly crowded, there will be less space for the trees, parks and the other photosynthetic elements we call green infrastructure.

Research: Our research focuses on three Sydney suburbs, where we conservatively estimate that a 10 percent increase in the leaf canopy of street trees can increase the value of properties by an average of $49,000.

Solution: This report provided advice to local government that to enjoy the benefits of green infrastructure, we need to treat trees, parks and other natural elements like any other vital infrastructure and comprehensively account for their costs and benefits. Then we need to adjust our regulations and operating procedures accordingly.
